“Team REALTOR is thrilled to partner with MLSAssistant to support the recognition of sponsoring agents in fundraising for cancer research and treatment,” says Mark Holt, Team REALTOR chief. “We are REALTORS passionate about preserving and curing health. Dana Farber’s success is one of the best things we can support when it comes to preserving homeownership in America.”

“The important goal is not the ride itself... but reaching the cure. 39% of Americans will to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime- that's 400,000 agents alone. Living fully after successful treatment  is our concern -holding onto careers and homeownership for families challenged by this increasingly curable disease. Joining the ride is no sweat- leave the pedals to us”, Mark Holt- team chief.

MLSAssistant will have a strong presence, building and hosting special IDX themes, with robust home search capabilities, that promote agents joining the team as virtual riders. The firm is additionally gathering support from home services businesses with special coupons and incentives for homeseekers that visit a sponsoring agent’s site and donate.

Each REALTOR that supports the team will receive a special, personally branded fundraising widget along with a full blown, official ‘v rider entry’, plus a  full blown idx website customized by for the communities they serve. Successful agents can also earn an official PMC rider jersey when they hit $1,000 in donations.

“This is a fantastic way for agents and brokers to connect with the nation’s most successful athletic fundraising event.  The PMC will draw more than 6,200 cyclist 4,000 volunteers, and over 250,000 individual donors from around the country with the goal of raising $48 million dollars to support patient care and cancer research”, says Mark Holt, “MLSAssistant is providing hundreds of dollars of services for each agent’s registration.”

100% of donations raised by REALTORS goes directly to the Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund.

About the Pan-Mass Challenge

The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is an annual bike-a-thon that has raised more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world. The PMC was founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who remains the event’s executive director, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser. The PMC has since raised $547 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The event donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause. The PMC generates more than 52 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue and is Dana-Farber’s single largest contributor. The PMC has successfully melded support from committed cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual contributors. All are essential to the PMC's goal and model: to attain maximum fundraising efficiency while increasing its annual gift. The PMC’s hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers.
